Kalvin Kristi

Biog :

As frontman of the sensational machine called 'THE OVERDRIVE', Kalvin Kristi catapulted onto the jamaican alternative scene like a category four hurricane. The year was 1997,when the influential quintet took the Caribbean to 'HigherGround'. Propelled by the infectious arrangement of the album's lead track, 'Women of the Century'. Kristi soon found himself performing live, with established acts like; Shaggy, Third World, and Born Jamericans. While Billboard described him as the most complex, yet compelling artiste to emerge from the Jamaican alternative network. Fast forward to the present, and we find him forging a new direction as a solo artiste. Still mixing Reggae/Rock concoctions with the unseen force, known as 'The Stranger'. Building Shikari into a potent, socially conscious hit factory. There are whispers that on the release of his upcoming album, the fraternity called Alternative Reggae will be shaken to it's very foundation. join him, as he steps from the jersey shoreline into then annals of history.

I really listen to a wide variety of people as my taste in music is very eclectic and diverse. some notables are Wailers Jimmy Cliff, Burning Spear, John Holt & the Paragons, Toots and the Maytals, I 3s, Sly & Robbie, Steel Pulse, Aswad, Miriam Makeba, Ladysmith Black Mombazo, Johnny Clegg, Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole, Jim Reeves, Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Jimmi Hendrix, Dionne Warwick, Bee Gees, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and the list goes on.

Sounds Like Try to be as original as possible, but the fact that we honed our musical skills by listening to other artists sometimes we tend to have a few of their characteristics. so my sound in terms of lyrics maybe like a wailers type, mannerism, maybe like a Peter Tosh and music wise i'd say reggae, rock, and a tinge of alternative.
