Robert Priest, also known as Dr.Poetry on CBC's Wordbeat, is the author of fifteen books of poetry, a Chalmer's-award-winning play, a hit song, a children's novel and numerous rock CD's and children's recordings His words have been debated in the legislature, posted in the Transit system, quoted by politicians, sung on Sesame street and widely published in text books and anthologies. In 1992 his lyric, Song Instead of a Kiss, was turned into a number one song by Rock diva Alannah Myles and is still played on radio all around the world.
