'e dey rap like dondo (he raps like a talking drum)'

Kubolor (coo-bor-law) – A person stuck between the natural and 'new way' of doing things.

Wanlov The Kubolor was born in Ploiesti, Romania, and grew up in Accra, Ghana. Both his parents were collectors of world music and art, influencing him to have a more diverse perspective; evident in his insightful consciousness and presentation of the human experience.

Musical and personal growth facilitated the development of Wanlov’s unique sound; the fusion of Hiphop and West African music, created what he calls 'Kubolor' music. Rather than modifying his style to fit the mold of pre-existing genres, Wanlov created a space to share his music comfortably. The decision of non-conformity extends from the need for each person to realize and honor their uniqueness, which Wanlov does with great fervor. He hopes to inspire others to go the road less traveled; to create a personal evolutionary path for positive change.

In recent years Wanlov has collaborated with Blay Ambolley, Ghana's Rap pioneer and Highlife legend, as well as other well respected artists. Wanlov has performed at numerous universities, theatres, & club venues throughout the United States; with radio play in Africa, Europe, Australia, North and South America.

Wanlov's life-force, pure talent, and lyrical skill always engage listeners as he entertains, informs and shares. As the nexus of “Kubolor” music, he is adamant about positively impacting the quality of life for all in Africa and abroad. Via his inspirational lyrics he plans to continue promoting truth, sharing solutions, and spreading love.
